Tow – Things On Wheels
‘Things on Wheels’ (2021) is a portable gallery and workshop designed to engage with and inspire creativity in the local communities of Middlesbrough’s Gresham and Newport areas. Made of scaffolding and decorated with colourful flags, TOW was produced by The Auxiliary Project Space, an art organisation based in Middlesbrough dedicated to supporting artists and producing experimental art and sound practices, funded by Arts Council England and is hosted by Bloominart, an art platform that offers skill building opportunities for those with learning disabilities. TOW was part of this year’s Sonic Arts Week, featuring North East artists Louise Robinson and Vision 25-C to introduce people to interactive art forms like pinch pot making and electronic music production. TOW is a community event beloved by all ages.
