Charlotte Dawson

Charlotte Dawson is a Sheffield based artist working across object based practice, installation and moving image.

Her practice is influenced by materials and objects found in public, shared spaces alongside objects that reference collective experiences. Sourcing influence from street furniture, domestic decor choices and the implementation of object as memory maker. Her work often incorporates texture as a communicative method, forming the foundations for her divergence into material language. The multiple also features heavily within Charlotte’s practice, referencing both manufacture and mass production alongside shared impulsions to collect.

Charlotte graduated from Norwich University in 2018. The same year she was artist in residence at Airspace Gallery. In 200 she received a grant from the Henry Moore Foundation to support her practice She is currently a studio holder  at S1 Artspace. Recent exhibitions include the Overturns at Reading Rooms and the touring exhibition Here /There (Bloc Projects, Abingdon Studios)
